The role of each application
- After Effects: 2D animation, typography, masks, tracking, compositing and final assembly.
- Cinema 4D: 3D scenes, blocking, camera work and animation.
- Redshift: lighting, materials, rendering and preparing compositing passes.
AI services complement these tools with images, video material and sound. Unreal Engine is not included in Foundations or Production.
Checking your computer before the start
List your processor and GPU, RAM, operating-system version and free disk space. Compare them with the requirements of the exact application version you intend to use. Redshift depends on GPU and driver compatibility; more complex scenes also need sufficient memory. Windows and macOS support depends on the software version and hardware. Use the documentation rather than a laptop’s general marketing description.
Keeping a practice project manageable
Start with a short film and a simple scene. Use lighter previews, small test renders and an organised file structure during development. Increase complexity after checking the basic scene. This lets you spot problems without waiting for a final render after every adjustment. Cloud AI generation does not remove your computer’s workload during editing and compositing.
Licences and additional costs
Training does not include software subscriptions, AI-service subscriptions or paid generations. Check regional availability and current terms on the official website before paying. Include your computer specifications and project goal when discussing training to identify technical constraints in advance. Compare the programmes on the Foundations and Production pages.
